The formative years...
(I wrote the bio myself, I hope you like it.)

Aaliyah Dana Haughton was brought into this world on January 16th 1979.  When she was a little bit older, it was clear that Aaliyah was going to have a huge and promising future. At only ten years old, our beautiful Aaliyah appeared on Star Search singing "My Funny Valentine".

Aaliyah's musical career began in 1994.  With a good first single (Back and forth), Aaliyah was beginning to make a name for herself.  Her first album Age Ain't Nothing But A Number, became a smash.  The singles following Back & Forth were the title track, At Your Best {You Are Love}, The Thing I Like and Down With The Clique.  But it would be 2 years later that Aaliyah found bigger success.

In 1996, Aaliyah broke the deal off, and began working with Timbaland and Missy "Misdemeanor" Elliott on her sophomore record which would be titled One In A Million.  The songs on the record were better than her previous hits.  This second album spawned 6 huge singles.  The singles were If Your Girl Only Knew, One In A Million, 4 Page Letter, Got To Give It Up, Hot Like Fire, and The One I Gave My Heart To. In 1997 Aaliyah had a song from the Anastacia soundtrack titled "Journey To The Past", which would get her to the Oscar Awards.

After the success of One In A Million Aaliyah finished high school {graduated from Detroit High School, with a 4.0} and recorded a song for the Dr. Dolittle soundtrack in 1998.  The song Are You That Somebody came to be a huge hit for Aaliyah, the summer jam of 1998.

In 2000 Aaliyah made her acting debut in the film Romeo Must Die.  She helped produce the soundtrack.  The soundtrack featured 4 songs by her.  Including the #1 hit single Try Again.  The other songs were I Don't Wanna, Come Back In One Piece ft. DMX and Are You Feelin' Me?.  Try Again became another summer jam and huge hit for Aaliyah.

In 2001 Aaliyah began work on another album and movie.  The movie was Queen of the Damned.  The album would be her third and most successful album to date. Also she was signed on to play a role in the 2 Matrix sequels.  The first single from the third record was We Need A Resolution.  Like the previous singles, it became a hit.  Aaliyah finished her role in Queen of the Damned, but the movie wouldn't be released until the next year.  The album released on July 17 2001, which she was the executive producer of.  Her third album was self titled {Aaliyah}.  Three more successful singles followed which were: Rock The Boat, More Than A Woman and I Care 4 U.  The rest of 2001 will not be mentioned for a good reason.

In 2002 Queen of the Damned was released, it debuted #1 in the box office.  Later that year Aaliyah had a 4th album titled I Care 4 U.  Which included the #1 hit single Miss You as well as Don't Know What To Tell Ya and Come Over.  The album also included some of her biggest hits such as Try Again and More Than A Woman.

The rest remains yet untold.
